Week.5 Session.1
Good evening everyone. How do you do today? I am here again to share my experience of IT. We are now entering into week 5 and this week is full with interesting topics about IT. For this session 1, let me share you a single knowledge about Information System @ IS. Last week, we already learned about types of IS. For today, let me explain you about each type of IS.
TPS
TPS is transaction processing system. It captures and processes data. TPS records the data from every division or department in the organization. The activities associated with TPS contains
- recording the business activities such as students' registration.
- confirming an action or triggering a response such as printing a students' schedule.
- Maintaining data, which involves adding new data,changing existing data and removing unwanted data.
People, hardware and software.
The functions of TPS are,
input function, processing function, output function and storage function.
MIS
MIS is managing information system.
It is an integrated collection of data, people, procedures, databases and devices that provides managers and decision makers with information to help achieve organizational goal.
The functions of MIS are,
help organizational achieve goals and provide right info to the right people at the right time and format.
DSS
DSS is decision support system.
It helps provide information to support such decisions. It is an information system to designed to help users reach a decision when decision making situation arises.
